I woke up to the girls joyfully squealing about a butterfly Daddy had caught. Heath brought it into our bedroom and it fluttered around our bed. Piper was brave enough to hold it although Attalie was sure to keep her distance. It was a really fun experience, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a butterfly quite so up close and personal. I’m so glad I was able to capture these photos:

Books Alive: Fox in Socks
So happy to have Jess from Craftiness is Not Optional visiting today. She brought along a super-darling craft that goes with a book I’m betting you know and love.
If you have kids (or even if not!) you’ve probably read a few Dr. Suess books. Or many of them… we have a whole stack! (I prefer the board books, honestly, they’re shorter haha! I’m not much of an “out loud” reader.) Anyways, the rhyming words of Fox In Socks has always made my girls giggle, so I knew my book for the Books Alive Summer Reading Series had to be this one.
Also, foxes are so cute! Going along with the socks theme, I decided to make some fox sock puppets. (I felt very clever… heehee)
Aren’t they sweet!? And so easy to make.

We Heart Mom Coloring Banner
We shared this We Heart Daddy banner before, and now our kids wanted a Mom version.
Of course this banner is perfect for Mother’s Day, but we have an inkling they might be planning to make it to welcome us home from SNAP conference. We had actually created the Dad banner not for Father’s Day but to welcome Dad home from a trip — we always miss Dad when he’s away. Come to think of it, we actually now have a Welcome Home banner too — clearly we love banners! The great thing about banners are that you get a big bang with just a few pieces of paper.
Printable Inside Out Characters
Last week my girls and I saw an advanced screening of Disney/Pixar’s new Inside Out. We all loved the movie, and it’s really saying something when both my 4 year old and me enjoy a show so much we can’t wait to see it again. Afterwards, my girls and I brainstormed Inside Out party ideas and crafts over ice cream. Our favorite idea was this “Jar of Joy.”
