Halloween with Shutterfly Decor + Giveaway

Put a monogram on your pumpkin -- this looks EASY! Tutorial @PagingSupermom #shutterflydecor

With preparations for my Halloween dinner party underway and assembling all the kids’ costumes, we’re in high gear for Halloween! Yesterday Aimée came over and helped me style my front porch with a bunch of darling decor from Shutterfly.

It is so much fun to be able to literally dream up any decor and bring it to life with Shutterfly. I’ve had the “something wicked this way comes” quote from Macbeth on my brain for weeks, and I just love how it looks turned into Wood Wall Art on my front door. (You can make one too with our free graphic file downloads, see below.)

I usually hang a wreath on the door, but I think this wood print is fabulous, and I love how the wood grain shows through. Actually I was planning to lean it up beside my door, but when we tried hanging it, we were instantly sold — the scale of it on the door is so much fun. I glued a couple pieces of felt to the bottom corners to help protect my door and the print from movement when the door opens and closes.

How to Make a Gap Ad

My GapKid

We have a soft spot for Gap — in fact when Aimée and I met we were both working side jobs for the Gap Company (I still miss my employee discount card). Fast forward ten years and, of course, when it’s time for back to school shopping we always hit up GapKids. It’s easy to order online, or have you tried the new reserve in store feature? It’s great when you’re in a rush. The staff of the Scottsdale Quarter store, that Aimée and I frequently visit, are so friendly and personable — we may or may not be on a first name basis.

My GapKid

When I saw the new GapKids Class of 2014 campaign encouraging families to share photos of their kids being kids, I couldn’t resist submitting a fun shot I recently captured of Attalie on our family vacation this summer. After entering, I was surprised when I received this cool shareable video. Ready to watch Attalie’s very first Gap ad?

Postcards from Camp

This is the year I send my oldest son, Liam, to a week-long overnight camp. I spent 13 summers at this camp, and now Liam is old enough to go and make magical memories similar to mine. (Where has time gone?)

Camp-Letter-Home 3

As a kid, camp is FUN! A whole week of canoeing, swimming, funyacking, archery, crafts, camp fires, friends, songs and more! But, as a Mom, I’m feeling major anxiety!! I’ve never gone a day without talking to Liam, and now I have to go a WHOLE WEEK. (I’ve been rehearsing the sendoff in my head to make sure I don’t cry!) Needless to say, I’ll be on pins and needles awaiting a letter from Liam.

Kid-Friendly Laptops at Staples

Buy Kid-Friendly Laptops at Staples

When Staples asked if our family would like to test out one of their laptops, we were of course happy to oblige. The timing of their offer was actually quite perfect since we’d been shopping around for a computer for the kids.

We love Staples for all our printing needs — both Aimée and I are on a first-name basis with the copy center staff at our neighborhood Staples (Hi Quinn!) Although I have not spent nearly as much time on the Staples website, I was pleased to find that computer shopping through Staples.com was truly easy. Their website has great tools that helped me sort and narrow my search based on the features I know I want, like a touch-screen laptop.

Check this out: Harrison can now wash his hands at the kitchen sink without my assistance. He’s been able to reach the stream of flowing water for some time, but he’s at least a year or two away from reaching the faucet handle to turn the water on and off by himself. With our new Moen MotionSense faucet, the Ready Sensor magically turns the water on AND off for Harrison to wash his hands.

Free Printable Chore Game

Free Printable Chore Game at PagingSupermom.com #printales #freebies

Hi Supermoms! It’s Sara from Confetti Sunshine here today to talk about chores. It’s always hard to get kids to do their chores. And, pretty much impossible to get them to do their chores willingly. Sheez, sometimes I even have to bribe myself into doing my chores, and I’m suppose to be the mom!

So I don’t think it ever hurts to try and make a daunting task a little more fun by turning it into a game. No matter how you run the chores at your house, just change the game rules as needed to accommodate things.
