Schools out around here, and we are on the hunt for fun, summer activities to keep the kids busy. We created this free printable sundial to share in this month’s issue of Raising Arizona Kids magazine. It is the perfect project for a sunny, summer day.
We’ve partnered with our friends over at Animal Jam — the safe online playground for kids who love animals and the outdoors — to bring you this fun shark-tooth necklace tutorial.
Our kids are already looking forward to summer, and we’re thinking about a family trip to the beach. Since we’re talking about the beach, the kids have been loving to learn on Animal Jam about animals they might see there — like these crabs or maybe even a shark!? (Let’s hope not!) Created in partnership with National Geographic, Animal Jam is full of stunning animal photos and interesting facts, see the screenshot below.
It would be fun to wear our shark-tooth necklaces at the beach! These necklaces are super simple to make and both Aimée’s boys and my girls loved them. Here’s what you’ll need: shark teeth, wire, wire cutters, pony beads, and leather cording.
The weather here in Phoenix lately has been downright miserable, so these days we are practically living in the pool. For this month’s issue of Raising Arizona Kids magazine we wanted to make our own pool toy with the kids.
First off I want to mention that I’m guest posting today over at the SNAP Blog, and if you’re a blogger, you’ll definitely want to read my post.
Okay, now this story begins back at Mother’s Day, when our friend Dr. Debbie got the sweetest Mother’s Day gift — a shaved ice machine. We’re not talking about a little, hand-crank, snow cone maker, but a totally legit, industrial-size ice shaver. To a pregnant lady craving snow cones daily, I was immediately struck with envy. So I did what I always do when I want something — I searched for it on Amazon.com. Amazon sells EVERYTHING right? Right!
Well it seems a shame to keep such a good thing to ourselves, so last Saturday we invited all our family and friends over for a Shave Ice Party! I had a lot of fun creating a few details to make the party special. Naturally we’d need to tape up in our kitchen a big menu poster showing all the shaved ice flavors available. I printed it as a 24×36-inch, large-format, black-and-white engineering print at Staples for just a few dollars.
It’s time for another installment of the free printables Blog Hop — today we’re all sharing fun, summer printables.
When we think of summer we think of getting wet, so we created these colorful, printable water gun targets. Kids love water guns, and we’d love them too if it didn’t seem like Mom is always prime target! Give them something else to shoot at with these free, printable targets.
