Today I’m so excited to share some Emoji party ideas. I recently hosted an Emoji baby shower for my friend Mandy, who welcomed her second baby boy this summer. This emoji-themed party suited Mandy perfectly and was a lot of fun!
You might remember seeing Mandy’s cute pregnant belly in the Super Mom tee photos. I wanted to throw a baby shower for her, but since Mandy already had all the essential baby gear, I decided to do a “Diaper Bash” encouraging guests to help me shower her with diapers, wipes and all the other consumables that a new baby goes through quickly.
Of course you know how I love a theme, and what theme could I possibly do that centered around DIAPERS? I asked my husband this question, and he jokingly suggested the Poo Emoji. I was stunned by his brilliant idea, and when he could see the wheels in my head starting to churn, he started back pedaling. He did NOT think it was a great idea and was completely kidding. I assured him that it was pure genius and EXACTLY the stroke of inspiration I’d been searching for. So leaving him with a disgusted look on his face, I set feverishly to work thinking up lots of emoji party ideas!
As I was planning the party, a few people would ask me about the theme, and I would tell them it was going to be an emoji baby shower and lavishly praise my husband for suggesting such a great idea (since I knew he actually thought the whole thing was totally ridiculous LOL!) Now I present to you a Poo Emoji Baby Shower, and I think you’ll agree with me that it is completely fabulous…
I love my Heidi Swapp Lightbox Sign, and the emoji pack was perfect. I seriously think this sign was one of the highlights of the whole night. Every guest that walked in, immediately busted up laughing. It set the perfect tone for an emoji party along with these cute #HELLO and #GOODBYE Emoji Hashtag Door Signs, which are free printables that are in my Emoji Diaper Bash Kit that you can get by filling out the form below.
I had planned to just send out an emoji-packed text as the invite, but ultimately I couldn’t resist creating a paper emoji party invitation. This Diaper Bash Invitation template is an instant download in the Supermom Co-Op, and you can personalize it with all your party details.
Mandy’s husband Dan is a total prankster, and he’s even gotten me a few times. Which means this Emoji party was all the more perfect for Mandy. I knew Dan’s baby boy needed a Poo Emoji onesie. I printed my emoji designs onto Avery iron-on transfer sheets and ironed them onto white onesies. I whipped up all three of these Emoji onesies in 20 minutes! I love something useful like a onesie that can double as cute decor at the baby shower.
In the Supermom Co-op you can get the Emoji Designs Fabric Transfer Templates, including 8 of the most popular emojis already reversed and ready to be ironed on. The file includes two sizes so you could also make shirts for bigger kids and adults too! Not just for the baby shower — you could make these DIY Emoji tees as great gifts for birthdays and more.
You know I can’t have a party without some banners…300
