Is it just me, or is this a crazy week? With May Day, Mother’s Day, Teacher’s Appreciation Week, Cinco de Mayo and my Mom’s Birthday, I’m feeling less than super. So I’ve been on the lookout for SIMPLE yet fun Mother’s Day ideas and figured I’d share what I’ve come up with.
We whipped up this free Mother’s Day printable available as a 5×7 or 8×10. Print it out at a local 1-hour photo and put it in a pretty picture frame for a quick gift. I’m also planning to use it as a centerpiece for our dinner table on Sunday. Something cute that is a cinch sounds good, No? Here a few more ideas…
Handprint Flower Magnet :: As a Mom it’s hard not to be partial to any craft made using your child’s handprint. This is the cutest, most simple idea ever. Perfect for the little ones.
Handprint Bouquet :: Also using your child’s handprint, this bouquet could be cute — especially for a special Mom who has lots of grandchildren. I can just imagine all the colorful waving hands.
Envelope Sachets :: You can easily assemble these Martha Stewart sachets. I would love to stuff a few of these in my closet or in my stationary drawer — especially if the envelopes were adorned with my boys’ coloring!
Heat Pad :: This idea only qualifies as “simple” if you’re comfortable sewing. There is a great tutorial that includes a lot of pictures. (Those are always helpful, right?) All you need is a small stash of fabric and uncooked rice, which you probably have on hand.
Bettijo’s Bath Salts :: Whip up a quick batch of bath salts, using Bettijo’s recipe featured in Whole Living magazine. After all, doesn’t every Mom deserve a pampering bath on Mother’s Day?
