Today we’re going to talk about one of the hardest parts of having a toddler — all those accidents. As much as we moms would like to protect our children from every possible harm, the fact is life is about learning, and when you’re learning to walk, run, and more, bumps and bruises are inevitable.
It is so hard to stomach all those ouchies, and when a kiss from Mommy isn’t enough, I have a secret weapon to help heel those bruises fast!
No toddlers were intentionally harmed in the making of this post. All bumps and bruises were naturally obtained through his own actions.
I remember as a child my mom had this special salve that she’d put on all our booboos. Then sometime in my early teen years, I hit my shin hard and knew a nasty bruise was coming. I put the cream on myself before bed, and I remember being thoroughly amazed that there was no bruise on my shin the next morning. I’ve been a firm believer ever since.
A few years ago my mom’s salve was discontinued (it was made by Nature’s Way and called BF&C — for Bone, Flesh & Cartilage). Happily I recently found another one that works every bit as well: Christopher’s Complete Tissue & Bone.
I know the name sounds kind of odd, but seriously get some and try it the next time your little one takes a tumble. I keep my jar in the fridge to prolong the shelf life. The label doesn’t say anything about needing refrigeration, but a little of this stuff goes a long way. Since the tub is pretty large, it’s smart to refrigerate to keep the ingredients fresh. Plus the cool salve feels extra nice going on those owies, and you’ll have your little one smiling again in no time!
By the way no toddlers were intentionally harmed in the making of this post. All bumps and bruises were naturally obtained through his own actions. Also if you’re into Crossfit or just happen to be a klutz, this stuff works well for grown ups too!
