[/js]While this may be a sponsored post, I must start by saying I truly believe what I’m writing. Dannon Oikos Greek 0% Fat Plain Yogurt is a staple at my house. As long as I have Oikos yogurt in the fridge, all I need to do is grab a spoon, and I have a healthy convenient snack (or breakfast or lunch).
If you’re new to Greek yogurt, it’s a thicker and creamier yogurt that is packed with nutrition. Each cup of Dannon Oikos Greek yogurt contains twice the amount of protein of regular lowfat yogurt, which I have found helps me feel fuller longer. (Oikos Greek Nonfat yogurt has 12 -14g Protein (24%DV) while regular lowfat yogurt: 5g protein (10%DV) per 5.3oz.) And to clarify, yes, even Dannon Oikos 0% Fat is thick and creamy!
With swimsuit season fast approaching, Dannon launched their Grab a Spoon ’til June campaign offering exclusive tips from Keri Glassman, celebrity dietician and author of new book Slim, Calm, Sexy Diet (Keep reading for your chance to win a copy!). This time of year, my go-to breakfast is plain yogurt topped with pineapple and mango. (I buy diced frozen pineapple and mangoes so I don’t even need to chop anything!) If I’m craving something a little bit sweeter, I add flaked coconut or even granola for some crunch. Yummm!
Also, when it’s hot outside (which is essentially every day here in Phoenix), I make refreshing smoothies as an afternoon treat. (Get my favorite recipe here.) I include Oikos Plain Yogurt to make our smoothies creamier and add protein.
Bettijo’s loves the Oikos 0% Fat Honey flavor — she says that when a late-night, ice cream craving strikes, but she’s trying eat healthy she grabs the honey yogurt and a spoon instead. The craving is satisfied without the guilt!
I have to say, my favorite use of Oikos Plain Yogurt is a substitute for sour cream. Yes, I’m completely serious. I made the switch about a year or two ago, and my sour cream-loving husband didn’t notice! I even substituted Dannon’s Greek Yogurt for sour cream at parties. Remember Bettijo’s famous ranch dip… yup, I don’t use sour cream — I use this! On top of chili and tacos? I use this. Come to think of it, I don’t even remember the last time I purchased actual sour cream!

You know, I’ve been meaning to try Greek yogurt. I know it has way more protein, but when it is 4 times the cost, I just haven’t indulged yet. Your post has inspired me :)
I love greek yogurt and Oikos is my favorite brand!! I love all the flavors but Blueberry is my favorite. For a topping I add extra frozen blueberries and granola. It is now my go to breakfast because I stay full until lunch!
When I was pregnant Ioved being able to get so much protein. I’m weird but I really like the contrast of sweet and tart by putting plain yogurt with a tablespoon or so of honey on the side so I can dip spoonfuls. . . And of course there’s always granola.

I LOVE Greek yogurt! I too subsitute it for sour cream. My favorite way to eat it is with seasonal fruit and a tablesppon of granola for breakfast. I also put it in the fruit smoothie I make for my husband. Now I am going to go have some!
My husband and I love Oikos yogurt and have used it for breakfast, evening snack, and in making smoothies (a big switch from icecream). Glad to get some of the other recipes. Replacing sour cream with yogurt is a great way to go.
Thanks for the heads up.
I LOVE Greek yogurt in the morning with fruit and granola! My favorite breakfast….and I stay full! I also use it as a sour cream substitute. No one in my house even noticed the change ;)

I’ve really only had frozen greek yogurt but I use plain yogurt in baking pretty frequently and I know greek yogurt has more protein so I might buy some next time I need to get plain yogurt.
My husband and I use Greek yogurt in our morning smoothies! It definitely helps with the protein we need for the day and it gives our smoothies that extra creamy taste! Yum!! I need to try it now all the ways I am seeing on here too! Looks delicious!
