Make Your Own Shoe Decals

Catch Me If You Can Vans

We had so much fun using our Cricut Explore to create the iron-on decals for our girl’s leggings project that we couldn’t resist whipping up something for the boys too. These text decals are a subtle but totally rad way to dress up a pair of canvas shoes.

You could write your child’s name, or any favorite quote or phrase. Inspired by our slightly rambunctious boys, whom we’re always chasing after, we made “Catch Me If You Can” decals.

We couldn’t decide whether we liked better the regular wording or the leftover strip peeled off from around the words — so we used both! We’re very curious which way you prefer, so please leave a comment below and let us know.

DIY Knee-Patch Leggings

Flower Star Patch Leggings Cricut 1

My Cricut Explore has been pretty busy this week as we are preparing for my sister’s wedding Friday. (Yes things are utter chaos around here right now!) But we were invited to participate in the Cricut Design Space Star challenge, and with summer travels we missed the first round of projects. We really wanted to get into the game this month so we took a quick break from wedding stuff to bring you this fun Knee-Patch legging tutorial.

Teacher Appreciation Door Decorating

Photo 4

This morning I woke up early to go decorate the door for my daughter’s teacher. Our school is one of many that have a tradition where homeroom moms decorate the classroom doors for teacher appreciation week. Since Aimée and I also headed up the SNAP Door Decorating contest, I guess you could say we are becoming door decorating experts. I thought it would be fun to share some of the doors I saw in the hallway at school today (please excuse the phone photos).

How to Make a Mobile

Galaxy Star Mobile 1

I am so excited to finally share Baby Rockwell’s nursery makeover with you. We’ve had a few delays, but I just put the finishing touches on things, and I’m happy to report that Mr. R loves his room (Thank you Land of Nod!) Today I get to share his favorite detail of the moment — the Galaxy Star Mobile we created to hang above the crib.

Rockwell seems to have no choice but to stare into the Star Mobile with wonder and awe, while I scurry around after Modette who is shamelessly tearing the room apart faster than I can put it together. No wonder it has been so hard to get the place photographed! (Hopefully this week!)

Using leftover American Crafts Cardstock and Glitter Paper from our Glitter Academy project, and my Cricut Expression 2, I cut out 140+ of stars in about an hour (WAAAAY better than by hand!). To make a mobile you will also need a few No. 12 Screw Eyes, fishing line, and two 3/8-inch, square, wood dowels cut down to 22-inches. (If you ask, the hardware store will usually cut them down for free.)
