Sandra Boynton’s HOG WILD! Review

Every man, woman, chicken and child, come on over now ’cause we’re going HOG WILD! If you love Sandra Boynton, then you won’t want to miss her newest release — HOG WILD Sandra Boynton’s frenzy of dance music that adults and kids alike will love.

I hosted a super-fun barn dance release party at Changing Hands Bookstore here in Phoenix to celebrate the release of Boynton’s newest project. HOG WILD: A Frenzy of Dance Music features her loveable illustrations and whimsical prose put to music. There are 11 dance tunes recorded by a roster of superstars including Samuel L. Jackson, Weird Al Yankovic, Kristen Bell and more. This is a dance party in a book, for energetic kids and their families. Although just released, this book/CD has already made it to the top of Amazon’s bestseller’s list.

The book comes with a CD, but for all us retro lovers, Boynton is also releasing these fun recordings on a nostalgic vinyl record. I recently learned that I’ll have 75 copies of the HOG WILD! Vinyl Record to give away at my Phoenix launch party October 14. Hope to see you there!

Sandra Boynton is a major bestseller (60+ million sold), and for those of you who only know Boynton for her fun board books (such as Barnyard Dance, Pajama Time, Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs, Moo Baa La La La, and The Birthday Monsters… just to name a few), it will be no surprise that her text transitions easily to lyrics. I think almost every parent, has some sing-songy variation for reading Pajama Time aloud — you almost can’t help but sing the words.
