TO MAKE: For this star stamp you’ll need our free printable Star Teacher Stamp Label template, mod podge, pink eraser, craft knife, super glue and a block of wood.

You may be able to find precut blocks of wood at the craft store. We cut our wood from an inexpensive 1×2 board. You may not know this, but 1x2s actually measure 3/4 x 1-1/2 inches… you know, just to be confusing. Using a simple miter box and saw cut these boards down to 1-1/2 inch pieces. The block’s finished dimensions should be 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 x 3/4 inches. Let the kids sand the block so it’s nice and smooth.

Next cut an eraser in half the short way — you’ll be able to get a couple stamps out of each eraser. Use a pen to trace a star design on the blank side of the eraser. Cut out the star shape using a craft knife. Depending on the thickness of your eraser you may wish to cut down the thickness and can do so using a craft knife.

Super glue the finished eraser star to one side of the block. Decoupage the Star Teacher label to the other side of the block (decoupage instructions). In a pinch you could also adhere the label with regular school glue and brush a thin coat of the glue over the top of the label to seal it. You can also decoupaged/seal the sides of our blocks to give them a finished look. Once dry we had our child sign their name on the side using permanent marker so teacher will have a lasting reminder of their star pupil. We packaged our stamp up with a stamp pad to give to teacher.
