Fun Ideas for the Thanksgiving Kid’s Table

We love to have fun with our Thanksgiving Kid’s Table, and we’ve teamed up with Land of Nod to share some clever, but more importantly, EASY ideas — when you’ve got turkey, pie and a bunch of side dishes to worry about, we know you’re going to want to keep things simple and fun.

UPDATE: Sadly this adorable Thanksgiving partyware collection is no longer available, but check out these other cute Thanksgiving supplies from Meri Meri. I’ve updated the links throughout the article to current offerings that are similar to show.

We adore all the details of the Land of Nod Thanksgiving Decor Collection. We have been known to cringe at store-bought decorations but count on designer Meri Meri to provide the kind of details you’d expect from something homemade, like those real string bows on the pilgrim’s bonnet. Also, we are loving the foil-stamped, gold accents that add a festive shimmer.

The Thanksgiving Mini Garland looks adorable strung together with a couple of Orange Circle garlands. Land of Nod offers these geometric felt garlands in a variety of colors, and they are super handy to have tucked away in your party box.

Aimée and I had a lot of fun assembling this flash mob of pilgrims on top of a cornbread hill (go here to get our favorite Cornbread Muffin Recipe). Seriously this Thanksgiving Pilgrim Cupcake Kit is worth every cent. The pilgrim toppers are so cute and totally ready to go, and we were giddy about the gold foil cupcake liners. Also here’s a designer tip for printed liners: after baking, put on another liner so the pattern will be vibrant and colorful.

We set the table with our free printable Graph Paper Tablecloth and used the Chalk Around the World Globe for an interactive centerpiece. We created Atlantic Ocean Placemats and added sails to straws (using our free template) to turn cups into boats that are just the right size for our Pilgrim Placecards. We also included a spot on the placemats where your kiddos can write what they’re thankful for.

It’s always a good idea to have a few activities to keep little hands busy on Thanksgiving Day. A set of Pilgrim Cookie Cutters and fall-inspired playdough will do the job quite nicely.

Your little ones will also get a kick out of taking turns being the chef as they assemble this pretend turkey. Be sure to snag this adorable Pull Apart Poultry toy before it sells out, and download our free printable Turkey Platter and Garnish.

Before or after dessert, serve up a little educational fun with a homemade Fraction Pie. Print our free Fraction Pie templates on cardstock and cut out the pieces. You may wish to laminate for added durability. We used a recycled pie tin to hold our pie pieces.
