Our long-time fans know we’ve been meaning to share this Orange Butter for a while (since this post actually), and here we are just in time for Thanksgiving! This is an absolute must for topping homemade rolls at your feast this week. Plus don’t miss the free printable gift tags at the end of this post — perfect if you want to make a big batch of Orange Butter and share the wealth with neighbors and friends.
AIMEE’S ORANGE BUTTER RECIPE:
1 cup Butter (not margarine)
1.5 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon orange extract
Zest from one orange
TO MAKE: You will need softened butter, but you do not want to completely melt it. Leave butter out on the counter for a few hours ahead of time, or if you’re in a hurry, microwave for 15-30 seconds and keep a close eye. Begin by whipping the butter until fluffy. Add the other ingredients and blend until smooth. This recipe works great doubled.
We make this recipe using a stand mixer, like a Kitchen-Aid, fitted with the fabulous Beater Blade, which has little scrapers built in so you don’t have to stop the mixer and scrape the sides of the bowl. It is totally life changing and worth every cent!
TO GIVE: Use an ice cream scoop to portion orange butter in small bowls like this one. Wrap up with cellophane and tie on our free printable holiday gift tags.
