My boys love fruit snacks, but I wanted a healthier option than the prepackaged fruit flavored snacks sold at grocery stores. So, I borrowed my Mom’s dehydrator, and I’ve been loving it! I buy extra fruit and dehydrate it to give my boys when they want a snack. Now their “fruit snacks” really are just that—snacks of chewy fruit. They love it! It’s very easy to do, and I feel great knowing they are eating a wholesome snack.
Fabulous idea Ash! I shuffled through our fruit drawer, and I’m planning to dehydrate some fruit snacks tonight. Thank you for the inspiration!

This is a great idea! I don’t buy gummy “fruit snacks” either and have always jokingly said that I give my girls blueberries for their “fruit snacks.” My kids LOVE blueberries and gobble them up — it really does feel good to know they’re actually eating a “super food” rather than what is essentially candy.
I wish I had a dehydrator to borrow because I am not sure if my kids would eat it but I would love to try them.
